The Wines
Château Porte Chic wines from Pomerol embody the essence of tradition and excellence, crafted by generations of winemaking expertise. Renowned for their rich character and impeccable quality, each bottle reflects the unique terroir and dedication of the Trocard family.
A Rich History
Porte Chic, purchased in
2010, is personal for the Trocard family and reflects its history.
It evokes the thoroughbred horse of
the same name belonging to Benoit’s
grandparents, and the terroir is located
on the old race course. Elegant and
complex, it is unique.
The Beauty of Pomerol
Bordering the prestigious village
of Saint-Émilion, Pomerol is a
small vineyard with terroirs of
no lesser quality. With mainly
gravel and clay soils on iron
oxide residues, on which the
Merlot thrives, sublime, intense
and refined wines are born. It is
commonly said that they possess
the warmth and sap of the Grands
Crus of Saint-Émilion and the
great delicacy of those from the
Médoc.
Sustainability
All Vignobles Trocard properties have been certified Terra Vitis since the 2018
vintage, and High Environmental Value since 2020. Such commitments are part
of the cultural philosophy that Benoit adopts in his vineyards, where he favours
meticulous attention to detail and plot selection. Compliance with Terra Vitis specifications has encouraged Vignobles Trocard
to apply a very strict, preventive crop-protection regime, increasingly based on
biocontrol products.
